Police make arrest – Domestic violence – Malak

Northern Territory Police have arrested a 44-year-old man who allegedly assaulted his partner outside a residence in Malak last night.

Nearby witnesses came to the woman’s aid after being repeatedly assaulted by the man, who was arrested at the scene by police. He was charged with acts intended to cause serious harm and will appear before Darwin Local Court tomorrow.

The 42-year-old woman was taken to Royal Darwin Hospital with significant injuries to her head, multiple broken bones and facial fractures.

The Darwin Domestic Family Violence Unit continues investigating the incident and urges anyone who witnessed the assault to contact police on 131 444. Please quote reference number 10414663.
