Police make arrest over unlawful entry in Alice Springs 23 November

Strike Force Viper have arrested and charged a youth in relation to an unlawful entry of a home in the Gillen area yesterday morning.

Around 9:30am police responded to an unlawful entry after CCTV at a Gillen premises notified and identified a youth unlawfully entering the property.

Members of Strike Force Viper responded and located and arrested a 16-year-old male identified in the CCTV, at a nearby home less than an hour later.

The youth was charged with one count each of Unlawful Entry and Criminal Damage and will face additional charges of Unlawful use of a motor vehicle and Trespass in relation to two separate incidents involving stolen motor vehicles on 12 and 18 November.

Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Evan Kelly of Strike Force Viper said, “The timely arrest of the offender was an excellent result that potentially prevented further residential premises in the area being unlawfully entered.

“I urge all members of the Alice Springs community to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to police immediately.”
