Police make arrest – Property offences in Darwin

Northern Territory Police have arrested a man in relation to a number of property offences around Darwin overnight.

At around 3:00am, police received reports of an unlawful entry at a business on Bagot Road, with a number of tools and edged weapons stolen.

The offenders fled the scene with police locating the majority of the stolen tools and weapons in nearby bushland.

At 5:30am, the offenders have allegedly stolen a Toyota Hilux in Anula before attempting to steal another vehicle in Winnellie. The offenders were disturbed by an occupant, with one of the offenders throwing an edged weapon towards the occupant, missing him.

The offenders have all fled the scene.

At around 9:00am, police located the stolen vehicle and arrested a 23-year-old male, who is expected to be charged later today.

Detective Senior Sergeant Mark Bland said, “Police are currently searching for the remaining four male offenders involved in these incidents.

“Investigations are ongoing and we are confident we will have further arrests in the coming days.”
