Police make arrest – Shed fire and car tyres slashed

Arson Squad detectives have charged a man in relation to their investigation into a shed fire at a not-for-profit community group in Bayswater on 29 July 2021.

It is alleged about 1.20am, the man entered the rear yard of the premise on Beechboro Road south and set fire to a shed in the yard. The damage to the shed is estimated at $40,000 and was uninsured.

It is further alleged on 29 July 2021 the man slashed the tyres of several vehicles parked on Avenell Road in Bayswater.

The 26-year-old man from Bayswater is due to appear before the Perth Magistrates Court today, 5 August 2021 on the charges of :-

• One count of Criminal Damage by Fire;

• Five counts of Criminal Damage or Destruction of Property; and

• One count of Disorderly Behaviour in a Police Station or Lockup
