Northern Territory Police have arrested 5 offenders after a vehicle was stolen in Fannie Bay earlier this week.
On the night of 31 January 2024, a residence on Banyan Street was burgled and a white Toyota Aurion was stolen.
Around 1:30am yesterday, offenders attended multiple premises throughout Cullen Bay, Fannie Bay and Berrimah, causing damage and stealing items.
Strike Force Trident began investigations and located the stolen vehicle yesterday in Moulden.
A 13-year-old male was identified and arrested yesterday in Farrar after attempting to flee from police.
He was charged with:
- 2 x Attempt aggravated burglary
- 2 x Aggravated burglary
- 4 x Damage to property
- 2 x Theft
- 1 x Drive / Ride / Use vehicle without consent
Another 14-year-old male and a 14-year-old female were also arrested yesterday, one in Farrar and another in Coconut Grove, with both charged with Aggravated Burglary, Damage to Property, Theft and Drive Vehicle Without Consent. Another 14 year old female was also identified and is being dealt with under the provisions of the Youth Justice Act 2005.
Investigations into the incidents remained ongoing with Strike Force Trident detectives also arresting a 17-year-old male in Gray this morning in relation to this offending. The 17-year-old is expected to be charged later today.
Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Chris Humphries said “Police would like to thank all of the witnesses who came forward to provide vital information that allowed us to act quickly and make these arrests.”
