Police make arrests – Theft in Alice Springs

Northern Territory Police have arrested two youths in relation to a stealing incident in Alice Springs on Friday afternoon.

It is alleged that the offenders attended a business premises along Gap Road for an appointment at 1pm, before stealing two sets of keys to the company’s vehicles.

Strike Force Viper swiftly located the males along Gap Road, when they attempted to flee from police.

Both were arrested without incident.

The two 13-year-old males have since charged with once count of Theft.

Bail was opposed and both were been remanded to appear in court today.

Detective Senior Sergeant Michael Budge said “These arrests were the result of the hard work and collaboration between Operation Drina and Strike Force Viper.

“The fast apprehension of these two males almost certainly prevented vehicles being stolen and further offending occurring. Police will continue to tirelessly work to put property offenders before the courts and keep the community safe.”
