Police release CCTV image following attempted armed robbery in Darlinghurst

Police have released a CCTV image following an attempted armed robbery in the Sydney CBD last night.

About 10.05pm yesterday (Saturday 2 February 2019), a man entered a convenience store on Oxford Street, Darlinghurst, before threatening the attendant with a knife and demanding cash.

The 28-year-old male attendant was unable to open the register, before the man punched him in the face and left the store.

Officers from Surry Hills Police Area Command attended and established a crime scene.

The attendant was treated at the scene for minor face injuries, however did not require further treatment.

Police have released a CCTV image of a man they believe may be able to assist with inquiries.

He is described as being of Caucasian appearance, aged in his 20s, with a medium build, short blonde hair, and tattoos on the hands and fingers of both his hands.

He was last seen wearing a black zipped jumped with grey interior, black tracksuit pants, black shoes with white markings, and a black shirt with white markings on the front.
