Police responding to fatal traffic crash at Julago 1 November

A woman has died and three people were transported to hospital with critical injuries following a three-vehicle crash on the Bruce Highway in Julago on Sunday afternoon.

Preliminary investigations indicate around 5pm, a Toyota four-wheel-drive travelling southbound struck a Toyota sedan before colliding with a Mazda sedan. The Toyota sedan and Mazda were both travelling northbound.

Police and emergency services attended, however the driver of the Mazda, a 47-year-old Ayr woman, was declared deceased at the scene. Three other occupants of the Mazda, a 30-year-old Ayr woman and two children, were transported to Townsville University Hospital in a critical condition.

A 30-year-old Kelso man and 22-year-old Ayr man, the two occupants of the four-wheel drive, were transported to Townsville University Hospital in a stable condition.

The driver of the Toyota, a 44-year-old Rasmussen man, was not injured in the incident.

Crash investigators are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident, or anyone who may have dashcam vision, to contact police.
