Police responding to fatal traffic crash at Wivenhoe Hill

A man has died following a traffic crash between two trucks at Wivenhoe Hill this morning.

Preliminary investigations reveal around 8am a small pantech truck was travelling southbound on the Brisbane Valley Highway when a collision occurred at a road-works site with a stationary loaded gravel truck with dog trailer attached.

The driver of the pantech truck, a 64-year-old Park Ridge man, sustained critical injuries and died at the scene.

The driver of the gravel truck, who rendered immediate assistance to the man, was not physically injured.

Forensic Crash Investigators will prepare a report for the coroner and are appealing for witnesses, especially those with dashcam footage capturing the moments leading up to and including the crash to come forward.
