Police responding to serious scooter crash at Southbank

A man has been transported to hospital in a critical condition after an e-scooter incident in South Bank last night.

Preliminary inquiries indicate just after midnight a man rode a scooter south across the Victoria Bridge and travelled onto the forecourt at South Bank where he has fallen from the scooter.

The rider, a 50-year-old Woolloongabba man, was transported to the Princess Alexandra Hospital where he remains in a critical condition.

The man was wearing a helmet.

Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the cause of the crash.
