Police Responding To Serious Traffic Crash At Bemerside

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating a serious two-vehicle traffic crash in Bemerside yesterday, May 9.

Initial investigations indicate just after 6am, a driver of a blue Holden Barina was travelling northbound along Bruce Highway, Bemerside near Seymour Creek when it has collied with a red Hyundai Elantra.

Emergency services attended the scene to assist in extracting both occupants out of their vehicles.

The driver and sole occupant of the blue Holden Barina, a 67-year-old Ingham man, was transported to Ingham Hospital and then flown to Townville Hospital in a stable condition.

The driver and sole occupant of the red Hyundai Elantra, a 21-year-old Brinsmead man, was transported to Townsville Hospital by helicopter in a critical condition.

Witnesses or anyone with relevant dashcam footage is urged to contact police.

Investigations are continuing.
