Police responding to serious traffic crash at Kangaroo Point 23 June

A pedestrian has sustained critical injuries after being struck by a vehicle in Kangaroo Point this morning, Thursday June 23.

Initial investigations indicate around 10.15am two pedestrians were crossing Main Street at the intersection of Baines Street when one pedestrian was struck by a black 2016 BMW 520i travelling southbound on Main Street.

The driver of the vehicle, a 69-year-old East Brisbane man, rendered immediate assistance ahead of the emergency response and was not physically injured in the crash.

The 44-year-old male pedestrian remains in a critical condition in hospital, the other pedestrian was not physically injured.

Forensic Crash Unit investigators are appealing for witnesses, including nearby businesses and passing motorists with CCTV or dashcam vision of the crash, or the moments leading up to it to contact police.
