Police seek information: Homicide in Craignish, QLD

Police investigating the death of a 64-year-old man in Craignish are appealing for anyone with dash cam vision captured on the night of August 15 to come forward as homicide detectives join the search for answers.

As part of Operation Tango Electra, detectives from the Homicide Investigation Unit and Maryborough Criminal Investigation Branch are continuing extensive enquiries after Gregory Ian Harding, the owner/caretaker of the Craignish Country Club on Pialba Burrum Heads Road, was located about 8am on August 16.

Detective Inspector Gary Pettiford said the death is being treated as a murder based on initial investigations.

“The scientific examination of the scene is complete,” Detective Inspector Pettiford said.

“We are currently awaiting the results of these findings and will respond accordingly.”

Investigators are appealing to anyone who may have seen a person or vehicle acting suspiciously near the country club or between Craignish and Hervey Bay, between 10pm and 11pm on Sunday August 15, to come forward immediately.

Anyone with additional information that they believe may be able to assist with enquiries is also urged to speak to police.
