Police seek information Robbery Nightcliff

Police are calling for information after a Robbery at Nightcliff overnight.

About 10.10pm on Wednesday 8 January 2020, a motorist stopped on Progress Drive Nightcliff after being waved down by a distressed male. This male produced a knife with which he threatened the male victim demanding money and stealing his car.

Detectives from the Serious Crime Squad are seeking assistance from members of the public who may have witnessed this alleged robbery or anyone with information which may assist investigators.

As part of the ongoing investigation, detectives have this afternoon located the vehicle involved, a silver Toyota Camry in Rapid Creek. This car is now undergoing forensic analysis.

The alleged offender is described as being of part aboriginal appearance, stocky build, brown skin, medium to short brown hair. At the time, he was wearing a brown shirt and carrying a black backpack.

Detectives also ask that anyone with a residential CCTV system in the area Progress Drive Nightcliff, please review the footage from Wednesday, 8 January between 9.30 and 10.30pm.

Also, anyone with vehicle camera systems (‘dashcams’) who were driving on Progress Drive, Trower Road, Bagot Road and Casuarina Drive please review this footage from the night of Wednesday, 8 January 9.30pm from 10.30pm.

Serious Crime Squad, Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Jak Evans said,

“Thank you to the public for assisting to locate the car involved in this alleged robbery, Social Media posts and shares certainly helped in finding this vehicle. It is distressing to see this type offending, with more public help we can identify the offender and place him before the courts”
