Police seeking dashcam after pursuit at Pt Wakefield

The driver and passenger of a stolen car have been arrested following a pursuit at Port Wakefield.

Just before 11am on Monday 21 June, police spotted a stolen silver Holden Statesman sedan bearing WA plates, travelling at speed north along Port Wakefield Road at Wild Horse Plains. The car pulled over near a service station in Port Wakefield but then drove off at speed and travelled south along Port Wakefield Road where it drove on the incorrect side of the road placing other road users at serious risk.

PolAir made its way the area and followed the car along a number of dirt roads in the Gawler River and Virginia area before it stopped in Virginia. The occupants fled on foot but were located by PD Rusty hiding nearby.

A 28-year-old man from Cowandilla and a 30-year-old man from Torrensville, were bother charged with fail to truly answer and unlawful possession. They have been bailed to appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court on 4 August.
