Police are currently at Jells Park in Glen Waverley after various fires were believed to have been deliberately lit within the park this afternoon (3 October).
Emergency Services were called to the Waverley Road park just after 12.30pm and police are in the process of evacuating all persons within the park.
Investigators are currently searching for a man they believe may be able to assist with their investigation.
The man is perceived to be of Middle Eastern appearance, aged in his mid-20s with a full beard and tattoos on his left arm.
He was wearing a black t-shirt, black pants and cream sneakers.
He was possibly riding a push bike.
