Police update 1: Grievous bodily harmin Brisbane City

An 18-year-old Clontarf man injured during a disturbance at a Brisbane CBD apartment complex on January 26 passed away in hospital today.

Brisbane City detectives continue to investigate the incident including the circumstances around how the men were injured.

Around 9.20pm on Australia Day eight men gained entry to a Albert Street complex entering a room occupied by a man known to them.

During a disturbance three of the eight, two 17-year-olds and the 18-year-old man, sustained stab wounds.

The 18-year-old man sustained a life-threatening chest wound and was transported to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital.

The two 17-year-olds from were also transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and have now been released.

Investigations are continuing.
