Police Update 2: Fatal Traffic Crash in Murrumba Downs, QLD

Police have charged a 16-year-old boy with manslaughter following a fatal two-vehicle traffic crash in Murrumba Downs this morning.

Emergency services were called to Dohles Rocks Road just after 9.45am to reports of a two-vehicle crash, involving an allegedly stolen blue Audi and a white Toyota Corolla.

A 69-year-old woman, who was the driver of the Corolla, was declared deceased at the scene.

Police will allege that the stolen blue Audi hit a stationary police vehicle near the scene injuring two officers.

Both were taken to hospital with minor injuries.

Police will further allege 15 minutes earlier, about 9.30am, a woman was threatened with a firearm and the blue Audi was stolen from Dohles Rocks Road, Griffin.

The weapon that was used in the alleged robbery has been located by police.

A 16-year-old Caboolture boy, who was the alleged driver of the Audi, was taken into custody at the scene of the crash.

He has since been charged with one count each of manslaughter, robbery armed and unlawful use of a motor vehicle, as well as two counts of assault occasioning bodily harm.

He is due to appear in Brisbane Childrens Court tomorrow, November 8.

Police believe the boy could have links to occupants of a stolen orange Holden Hatchback, registration 906IP3, that was seen in the area at the time.

Police are appealing for anyone who sees or knows the whereabouts of this vehicle to contact Triple 000 immediately. Members of the public are urged not to approach the vehicle, or anyone associated with the vehicle.
