Police update 2: Operation Tango Donati

Police have finalised Operation Tango Donati with a total of nine people arrested on 153 charges during the four-day operation.

Two 20-year-old men from Condon and Pimlico have been charged in relation to two alleged armed robberies on December 6, one at Lashmar Crescent, Deeragun around 3.30am and the second at a hotel in French Street, Pimlico at around 11.15am.

The 20-year-old Condon man will face a total of 16 charges which includes two additional charges of entering a premises with intent and armed robbery. He has been remanded in custody and is due to re-appear in Townsville Magistrates Court on March 11, 2022.

The 20-year-old Pimlico man will face 18 charges including armed robbery, arson, burglary and car theft. He has been remanded in custody and is due to re-appear in Townsville Magistrates Court on January 24.

A 16-year-old Townsville male is now facing 27 charges for stealing, burglary and car theft in relation to an alleged burglary and car theft in Pisa Court, Kelso on December 3. He is due to appear in Townsville Children’s Court later this month.

A 14-year-old Douglas girl who was arrested in Cairns has been charged with 12 offences including five counts of car theft and three counts of burglary for multiple offences including alleged burglaries in Thuringowa Central, Douglas and Kirwan on December 1 and 2. She is due to appear in Cairns Children’s Court this month.

A 20-year-old Condon man has been charged with 13 offences including arson, burglary and car theft in relation to multiple alleged offences including burglaries in Sykes Close, Burdell on December 5. He has been remanded in custody and is due to re-appear in Townsville Magistrates Court on December 16.
