Police Update 2: Shooting Incident At Rockhampton

A man has been charged following investigations into a shooting incident on Tuesday, December 3 at Kawana in Rockhampton.

Emergency services were called to an Alexandra Street property around 8.30pm following reports of shots fired.

It is alleged police located a 31-year-old man who sustained a gunshot wound to his leg following a verbal argument with another man, known to him, who fled the scene.

The 31-year-old man was transported to Rockhampton Hospital in a stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries.

Detectives located a 24-year-old Norman Gardens man in Rockhampton on Friday, December 6

He has been charged with one count of acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm.

The man is due to appear in Rockhampton Magistrates Court today.

Police would like to thank the public for their continued assistance with this investigation.
