Detectives have charged two people following the attempted armed robbery of a service station in Molendinar yesterday morning.
It is alleged around 1.22am yesterday a man approached locked entrance doors of an Ashmore Road premises wearing a hoodie and a beanie pulled down over his face.
The console operator requested he remove the beanie prior to him unlocking the doors remotely for him to enter.
The man removed the beanie from his face for a moment to gain entry.
Once inside it is alleged he threatened the service station attendant with what appeared to be a long bladed style knife in one hand and a crowbar in the other hand and demanded money.
The attendant refused to hand over any cash and the man left the scene without obtaining any money.
No one was physically injured during the incident.
An 18-year-old Maudsland man has been charged with attempted armed robbery in company, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, disqualified driving, drive uninsured vehicle and drive unregistered vehicle, possessing dangerous drugs, two counts of stealing and two counts of receiving tainted property.
He is due to appear in the Southport Magistrates Court this morning.
A 17-year-old girl has been charged with attempted armed robbery in company, possessing anything used in the connection of a crime and two counts of possessing dangerous drugs.
