Police update: Hit and Run in Darwin City

Northern Territory Police continue to appeal for witnesses to the hit and run crash in Darwin overnight.

A 51-year-old female remains in critical condition in Royal Darwin Hospital.

The crash occurred on Lindsay Street, between the intersections of Woods Street and Cavanagh Street.

Detectives have identified CCTV footage from a business on Lindsay Street that captured footage of the vehicle driving away after colliding and driving over the woman.

Police continue to appeal for assistance from the community to help identify the vehicle and the driver.

Detective Senior Sergeant Brendan Lindner said, “From the footage we’ve reviewed so far, the vehicle appears to be a late-model white Toyota sedan. Please assist us to identify the vehicle and the driver involved. We also appeal for any witnesses who saw the woman on or near the road before the crash to understand how and why she came to be positioned on the road initially.”
