A man has been charged following the serious assault of a 44-year-old man at Maroochydore last night.
Around 9.15pm at a licenced venue on Duporth Avenue, two men known to each other allegedly become involved in a verbal argument which became physical, with one man striking the other in the face causing him to fall to the ground unconscious.
The 44-year-old Maroochydore man sustained serious head injuries and was transported to Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital where he remains in a critical condition.
A 43-year-old Maroochydore man has been charged with grievous bodily harm and is expected to appear in Maroochydore Magistrates Court on May 18.
