Is Jane Howlett being investigated by the Integrity Commission?
Yes or no? That is the question for Jeremy Rockliff today.
Mr Rockliff referring to serious allegations like this by saying “the past is the past” beggars belief. If the matter is still being investigated it’s not the past at all.
The 2022 Integrity Commission Annual Report noted an elected representative in the Parliament was alleged to have failed ‘to declare and manage conflicts of interest when making policy and expenditure decisions’.
Almost two years later, the investigation is ongoing and the Premier must be aware of it.
Even though she was once called the best Sports Minister in history, Jane Howlett has never returned to the Ministry, despite the frequent resignations and reshuffles in the weak, unstable, minority Liberal Government.
The Integrity Commission does not conduct two-year investigations for no reason.
Jeremy Rockliff must outline what steps he has undertaken to assure himself that his candidate is not under investigation.
