Property and unlawful use offences at Toowoomba

Toowoomba Police have charged three people with over 40 offences following several break-in and property based incidents across the Toowoomba Region that have occurred over the past several days.

It will be alleged that on January 18, offenders stole a Subaru Forester from a Cranley property on January 16 before damaging and entering 22 parked vehicles in Newtown, Mount Lofty, Harristown, Rangeville, Glenvale, and Centenary Heights.

The Subaru Forester was located in Newtown early later that morning.

On Tuesday, January 23, officers arrested a 16-year-old Harlaxton boy in relation to these offences.

He has been charged with 19 counts of enter premises with intent to commit, 11 counts of enter premises and commit, and one count of receiving tainted property, unlawful use of a motor vehicle.

He was refused police bail and is due to appear in Toowoomba Childrens Court today, January 25.

Detectives continue investigating these incidents as they believe more people were involved, and continue to appeal to anyone who can assist their enquiries or may have relevant CCTV/dashcam footage to come forward.

Toowoomba Property Crime Unit and Toowoomba Tactical Crime Unit also arrested and charged two people at Cotswold Hills yesterday in relation to several incidents over the past few weeks at Glenvale, Harristown, Toowoomba City and Mount Kynoch.

A 21-year-old Goondiwindi man has been charged with three counts of attempted enter dwelling and commit, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, and one count of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, unlicensed driving, enter dwelling and commit, enter premises and commit, stealing.

He was refused police bail and is due to appear in Toowoomba Magistrates Court today, January 25.

A 17-year-old South Toowoomba boy has been charged with two counts of attempted enter dwelling and commit, and one count of unlawful use of a motor vehicle.

He is due to face Toowoomba Childrens Court on February 1.
