Police have made an emergency declaration under the Public Safety Preservation Act (PSPA) due to a police incident unfolding at Nerang this morning.
The PSPA was declared at 11am, with the exclusion zone including New Street, Cayuga Street, Miskin Street to Kotara Street and across to Gilston Road.
Officers attended an address within the exclusion zone around 9:30am, with specialist police currently negotiating with a man at the address.
Members of the public are advised to avoid the area and those within the exclusion zone are asked to remain indoors until further notice.
