Police have made an emergency declaration under the Public Safety Preservation Act (PSPA) in relation to a bushfire burning in the area of Kooralbyn Township.
Officers are on scene at the fire, where an emergency situation has been declared.
Kooralybn Road is closed. People attempting to enter Kooralbyn are being diverted to Tamrookum Hall as place of refuge.
People in Kooralbyn, within the road closure area should go to Kooralbyn Community Hall.
This will include school buses returning children to Kooralbyn. Relevant support staff are on site at Tamrookum Hall.
Members of the public are advised to avoid the area. Traffic diversions are in place.
