PSPA revoked, Southport 29 March

The emergency declaration made under the Public Safety Preservation Act (PSPA) at Southport this morning has been revoked.

The declaration was made at approximately 8.45am with boundaries encompassing Bay Street between Davenport Street and Rawlins Street, after police were notified of three grenades and three firearms that were surrendered to an office building on Bay Street.

Following a thorough search of the area and seizure of the devices, the area was deemed safe with the PSPA revoked around 11.40am.

Police thank the community for their co-operation.

Investigations continue.
