Public place shooting at Sefton, NSW

A man has escaped with a minor graze after a public place shooting at Sefton this morning.

Police were called to the home on Helen Street about 2am (Sunday 20 October 2019), after a shot was fired through the second-floor bedroom window.

The projectile grazed the neck of a 23-year-old man before lodging in a cupboard. A car was heard outside before a second shot was fired.

A number of other people were home at the time and but escaped injury. The man did not require medical treatment.

Officers from Bankstown Police Area Command have established a crime scene and detectives have initiated an investigation.

They are appealing for anyone in the vicinity of Helen Street about 2am and who may have seen anything suspicious to contact Bankstown police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
