Reckless Driving / Impersonating Police

Traffic Enforcement Group officers are seeking information regarding a white Nissan Navara utility being driven in an erratic manner, with blue and red emergency lights activated, in the Ocean Reef / Heathridge area overnight, Saturday 15 February 2020 – Sunday 16 February 2020,

About 11:00pm last night Police started to receive calls from members of the public regarding the Nissan Navara, with reports including the vehicle being driven in an erratic manner and the occupants of the vehicle using a dash mounted blue and red emergency light to pull vehicles over.

Traffic Enforcement Group officers attended a residence in Winch Place, Ocean Reef, where a vehicle matching the description provided by members of the public was located. The vehicle was searched and a blue and red dash mounted emergency light was located and seized.

The owner of the vehicle, an 18-year-old man from The Vines, was served a Surrender Notice for the vehicle and will appear in court at a later date in relation to the reckless driving offences. The investigation into the use of the emergency lights is ongoing.

Police would like to speak to anyone who saw the white Nissan Navara being driven erratically, or who has dash camera vision of the vehicle with the emergency lights activated.
