Just 20 pieces of legislation have received Royal Assent in the past year.
Leader of Opposition Business in the House of Assembly Dean Winter said the government’s agenda was almost non-existent.
The number of Bills sent to the Governor by November 9 this year compares to 46 last year, 58 in 2013 and is the lowest since 2014 when 30 received Royal Assent.
“Here we are in the last week of Parliament for the year, with the least number of Bills receiving Royal Assent in a decade,” Mr Winter said.
“The number of Bills dealt with by Parliament in 2021 has been pitiful.
“Even in the year before, when we were disrupted by the COVID pandemic, more Bills were dealt with.
“It is as though the Liberals called an election simply because they ran out of things to do.
“The Liberals have been in government for seven years but have almost nothing show for it. They’ve got no new ideas and no plan – just the same old attempts to blame someone else.”
