Sadly police can advise human remains have been located during investigations into a house fire at Swansea on Wednesday.
Police and emergency services were called to the fire on Gordon Street about 9:20am.
The house was fully engulfed when police and Tasmania Fire Service crews arrived.
The property was completely destroyed, and sadly the remains were located at the scene today following further scene examinations.
The cause of the fire is at this stage undetermined, and investigations at the property are continuing.
Formal identification has not yet been conducted, but it is believed the deceased is the resident of the house.
Our thoughts and condolences are with the person’s family and loved ones, and a report will be prepared for the Coroner.
