Ride-share driver charged with indecent assault in Kirribilli

A man has been charged following an investigation into the alleged assault of a woman in Sydney’s north last year.

About 1am on Monday 1 October 2018, a 30-year-old woman was collected in Surry Hills by a man driving a ride-share vehicle and was booked to drive her to Kirribilli.

Police will allege just prior to reaching the destination, the man indecently assaulted her, forcing her to exit the car and walk the remainder of the trip.

The incident was reported to North Shore Police Area Command in March 2019 who commenced an investigation.

Following inquiries, a 37-year-old man was arrested at Chatswood Police Station on Monday 18 November 2019.

He was charged with assault with act of indecency and granted conditional bail.

The man is due to appear before Manly Local Court today (Thursday 19 December 2019).
