Rider arrested at Fairview Park

A motorcyclist was arrested this afternoon after allegedly trying to flee from police.

Just after 1pm on Tuesday 22 June, police spotted a motorcycle without registration plates on Hogarth Road, Elizabeth Grove. The patrol attempted to stop the motorcycle, but the rider allegedly failed to stop and rode off.

The police helicopter (PolAir) was requested and quickly located the bike. It was followed to a Fairview Park address where the rider was arrested.

The 34-year-old Fairview Park man was charged with fail to stop and riding unlicensed, unregistered and uninsured.

He was bailed to appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court on 3 August. The motorcycle was impounded.

Superintendent Guy Buckley, Officer in Charge, Northern District Police warned hoon riders would be prosecuted.

“This is another arrest by Northern District Police who continue to target hoon driving and in particular those motorcycle riders who continue to disregard the laws and public safety. We will continue to be proactive on this issue of concern to the community.”
