Residents are advised that there will be changed traffic conditions and road closures associated with the running of the Tour of the Tropics cycling event.
The Tour of the Tropics starts today, with several roads affected in Gordonvale and Cairns over the next two weekends, including:
Gordonvale on Sunday 3 July from 7am to 1pm
- Affected roads: Cannon St, Crossland Rd, Highleigh Rd, Mill St, Norman St and Warner Rd
- Shared roads: Roads will be open to traffic as usual. Normal road rules apply.
Cairns on Sunday 10 July from 7am to 5pm (and street parking restricted from 5am)
Criterium: Circuit of the Esplanade, Minnie St, Abbott St and Florence St with full road closures required on:
- The Esplanade, between Florence St and Minnie St
- Florence St, between Esplanade and Abbott St
- Abbott St, between Florence St and Minnie St
- Minnie St, between Abbott St and the Esplanade
