More projects from round two of the $4 million Roadhouse to Recovery Grant have been completed with the Purple Mango Cafe & Brewery and Oasis Tourist Park new bookable accommodation options open for visitors this dry season.
The Purple Mango Café & Brewery, located 2.7 kilometres from the Arnhem Highway along the historic Marrakai Track, opened their new bookable ensuite cabins earlier this month and are already experiencing a steady stream of bookings.
The business received a $150,000 grant through Round 2 of the Roadhouse to Recovery program to construct two new cabins and an ablution block, offering visitors additional accommodation options to the camping they currently have available.
The Oasis Tourist Park in Virginia is perfectly located for visitors wanting to explore the nearby Litchfield National Park and has undergone a major transformation, upgrading to a resort sized swimming pool and installing 10 new cabins, including six poolside cabins, two deluxe family cabins and two disability accessible cabins.
One of the highest rated and reviewed tourist parks in the region, the Oasis Tourist Park also received a $150,000 grant to boost their accommodation offerings which included the cabins and powered sites.
Round 2 provided $4.9 million to 39 regional and remote wayside inns, caravan parks and roadhouses to carry out infrastructure projects and upgrades to improve the customer experience. To date ten projects have been completed including upgrades at Tobermorey Station Caravan Park, Douglas Daly Holiday Park, Gemtree Roadhouse & Caravan Park and more.
The third round of the Territory Small Business Roadhouse to Recovery Grant program is currently open with $2 million in funding available for remote, drive focused businesses to improve the visitor experience. The Northern Territory Government will contribute $1 for every $1 of the total project value up to $150,000.00. The third grant round closes 18 July 2022.
