Roadworks blitz in Armstrong Creek

A major roadworks blitz by developers will get underway in Armstrong Creek next month, with residents and drivers asked to allow for extra travel time as works impact key routes between February and June 2023.

Developers will coordinate works to reduce impacts on the community as much as possible.

The roadworks will deliver vital improvements to Boundary Road and Horseshoe Bend Road.

Boundary Road will be closed to westbound traffic between Horseshoe Bend Road and Barwon Heads Road for the duration of the works, with access maintained in one direction for drivers travelling eastbound towards Barwon Heads Road.

Emergency services will continue to have access to all properties. Traffic management will also be in place to ensure residents of Banksia and Ashbury Estates can always access their properties.

Alternate routes and impacts

Roadworks will continue on Horseshoebend Road through to June 2023.

Horseshoebend Road will be closed north of Hilltop Drive to Lyanna Way and Swanburra Drive until March 2023.

From March to June 2023, Horseshoe Bend Road will remain closed from north of Worn Road.

Greyjoy Road, Lillrose Drive, Ambitious Avenue, Walter Street, and Hilltop Drive will be optional detour routes for local traffic.

Swanburra Drive will be closed to traffic from March to June 2023 with access for local residents maintained.

From February 2023, preliminary works may also be undertaken at the intersection of Horseshoe Bend Road and Boundary Road, to prepare this intersection for future traffic signals to replace the roundabout near Iona College.

Sparrovale Drain works will also be undertaken at this time, helping to facilitate the planned delivery of infrastructure to neighbouring estates.

Major Road Projects Victoria (MRPV) is also conducting asphalting works on the intersection of Reserve Road and Bramley Avenue in March 2023.
