Safety Secured for Students at Parkes Public School

Parkes Shire

Students in Parkes will benefit from improvements to their school facilities thanks to a $148 million investment by the NSW Government, earmarked in the 2022/23 State Budget.

Parkes Public School will receive funding to install and make upgrades to safety fencing.

NSW Nationals Upper House MP Sam Farraway said it is important that our local schools have quality facilities which keep staff and students safe.

“School environments play a crucial role in a students’ learning experience so it is important that we provide quality teaching and learning in spaces that are secure.

“Thanks to our record investment into school, health and road infrastructure, Regional NSW is now a place where people choose to live and raise a family.

“This grant will help ensure regional schools can safely cater for the growing number of students receiving their education in towns like Parkes.

“These investments go a long way in balancing the scales for the Regions, ensuring that our Students and Staff have access to facilities that make the learning conditions safe and engaging.”

The NSW Government is investing $8.6 billion in school infrastructure over the next four years, continuing its program to deliver 160 new and upgraded schools to support communities across NSW. This builds on the more than $9.1 billion invested in projects delivered since 2017, a program of $17.7 billion in public education infrastructure.
