These school holidays Sunshine Coast Council Libraries have heaps of COVID-safe activities for you to enjoy.

Summer Reading Club

Join the Summer Reading Club now and read for your chance to win great prizes. Complete challenges and reading logs, the more you read the more chances you have to win!

Online programs and eLibrary

Explore the large range of online programs published via the What’s On section of the Library website every Monday. There’s something for all ages.

Programs include:

  • how to create your own Big Day Out music festival

  • explore Horrible Histories of the Egyptians, Greeks and mighty Aztecs

  • discover VR/AR from the comfort of your own home

  • learn how to be an Ecotourist on the Sunshine Coast.

You can also access the eLibrary to stream music, movies, ebooks and much more all for free.

Story Walk

Visit Maroochy Regional Bushland Botanic Gardens from Monday December 14 to take part in the Library’s outdoor Story Walk featuring All the ways to be smart by Davina Bell, ill. by Allison Colpoys, published by Scribble.

Sofa poem-time

Make sure you tune in via the Sunshine Coast Libraries Facebook page at 7pm on December 24 to watch a memorable Christmas Eve poem recital of A visit from St. Nicholas: ‘Twas the night before Christmas by Clement Clarke Moore. It will feature as many local families as possible!

Holiday Activity Packs are back

Book your ‘At Home Holiday Activity Pack’ before they’re all gone!

Sunshine Coast Libraries have created activity packs for you to take home and get creative with your family.

Age limits apply for these programs as they’ve been designed to suit specific age groups and respond to children’s motor and literacy skills, as well as their developmental age.

School Holiday Packs available include:

  • Robot Mouse – learn the basics of coding using the cute Robot Mouse

  • Teddy Bears picnic pack – make your own stick puppets

  • Cardboard castle build – decorate and build your own mini castle

  • Imaginators – wooden engineering pieces to decorate and create structures and shapes

  • iPad covers – decorate a cover for your iPad or use it as a pencil case.

Bookings are essential and open 9am Monday December 21.

Packs will be available to collect from your designated branch from Monday January 4, 2021.
