Scooter rider dies after collision with car, NSW

A man has died after being hit by a car while riding a scooter in Five Dock tonight.

About 8.45pm (Tuesday 24 September 2019), emergency services were called to the intersection of Spencer Street and William Street in Five Dock, following reports that a car and motorised scooter collided.

The rider, aged in his 30s, was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics. He died a short time later.

Officers attached to Burwood Police Area Command attended and established a crime scene that will be examined by the Metro Crash Investigation Unit.

The male driver of a Toyota Hilux Utility was arrested and will be conveyed to hospital for mandatory testing. He is assisting police with inquiries.

Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the crash continue.
