Second person dies after crash last month west of Albury, NSW

A second person has died following a crash in the state’s Riverina region last month.

About 9.30am on Thursday 21 April 2022, emergency services were called to the Riverina Highway near Bull Plain Road, Rennie, about 100km north-west of Albury, after a Toyota Landcruiser towing a caravan and a white Mitsubishi ASX collided.

Three people were trapped in the Mitsubishi, with the 82-year-old male driver dying at the scene.

A female rear-seat passenger, aged 79, was airlifted to Canberra Hospital in a critical condition, where she died a week later on Thursday 28 April 2022.

A 74-year-old male front-seat passenger was taken by road to Albury Hospital; he has since been discharged.

The male driver and female passenger of the Landcruiser were uninjured.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
