June has knitted countless items while living at the Carinity Summit Cottages aged care community in Mount Morgan, which fully supports her charitable endeavours.

“I enjoy my knitting and like to share what I make with others. I like to have something to do with my hands,” said June, who also enjoys sewing.

“I started knitting when I was around four-and-a-half years old. A lady at Baree taught me. My sewing came later, and it was more out of necessity than a love of sewing.”

The 86-year-old enjoys life at Carinity Summit Cottages, where she has lived for the last seven years.

“I enjoy the peace and quiet. I can join the others for activities if I feel like it or enjoy my room listening to the radio or watching TV while knitting,” June said.
