Seniors in Spotlight at New Wyndham Seniors Expo

The countdown is on to the free Wyndham Seniors Expo this month, on Tuesday 28 November at Encore Events Centre in Hoppers Crossing.

Wyndham City Mayor, Cr Susan McIntyre said that the new Wyndham City event would provide an opportunity for seniors and carers to learn about services and support options.

“The Wyndham Seniors Expo is all about helping people to enjoy their life to its fullest.”

“Navigating your way through different providers and information can be challenging; and the Wyndham Seniors Expo aims to help make that easier by bringing different services and agencies together under the same roof.”

“There will be more than 50 different stallholders to explore at the Expo and it’s a great chance to be able chat face-to-face and ask lots of questions” Cr McIntyre said.

Wyndham City Portfolio holder for Healthy City, Cr Adele Hegedich said that the free Expo would feature a range of services to help older residents age well. “From equipment and safety, social and leisure activities, advocacy and financial and legal assistance – there will be a range of stalls to explore, along with information sessions on aged care reform, carer gateway programs and more.”

“You might even discover a new social group or ways to keep active in your neighbourhood.”

“We encourage residents of all ages help spread the word with family and friends – even if this event isn’t for you, there might be someone in your life who could benefit from the Expo.”

“The event will also feature a free Coffee with a Councillor session where you can enjoy a cuppa and chat with your local Wyndham City councillors”, Cr Hegedich said.
