Serious assault charges in South Brisbane, QLD

Brisbane detectives have charged two men and released two others without charge after a 43-year-old woman was allegedly assaulted in South Brisbane yesterday afternoon, February 9.

It will be alleged the 43-year-old Doolandella woman was taken from a Cassowary Street property in Doolandella by a group of men and assaulted, before being driven to Forest Lake.

Police took four men into custody at a Jarvis Street address in Stafford Heights just after 3.30pm.

A 20-year-old man and 18-year-old man have been charged with one count each of kidnapping, extortion, torture, assault occasioning bodily harm whilst armed, armed robbery, dangerous conduct with a weapon, possess shortened firearms, enter dwelling with intent, enter dwelling with intent whilst armed, and wilful damage.

They are remanded in custody and are expected to appear before Brisbane Magistrates Court today.

Investigations remain ongoing.
