Police are investigating a serious two vehicle crash which occurred about 7:20am today on the Bass Highway, Latrobe near the intersection of Speedway Drive.
The crash involved a white Isuzu MUX and a white Mitsubishi light truck.
Preliminary investigations indicate the truck was stopped on Bass Highway while waiting to turn into Speedway Drive, when the Isuzu collided with the rear of the truck.
The 63-year-old Latrobe man driving the Isuzu was extricated from his vehicle and taken to hospital in a serious but stable condition.
The 57-year-old driver of the truck was not physically injured.
Traffic on the Bass Highway was affected for two hours while emergency services extracted the driver of the Isuzu and conducted preliminary investigations.
