Severe weather update
- Roads are still closed across the Gold Coast due to flooding and are being inspected for damage and safety before being opened
- Crews will be out again tomorrow assessing and repairing the damage caused by this severe weather event in the coming days.
- The City is working with agencies to collect information on the entire picture across the City.
- Since 27 February, City of Gold Coast has issued 6 emergency alerts – across Tallebudgera and Currumbin and Albert and Logan catchments.
- Stay away from waterways, flooded areas and storm channels – they’re not a place to play. There’s debris, submerged objects and dangerous currents.

Evacuation Assembly Points
- Evacuation assembly points are now closed
Sandbag Stations
- All sandbagging stations are now closed.
- More than 9000 sandbags have been collected by the community since Wednesday
Beaches
- Beaches are closed Wednesday 2 March due to water quality..
Waste and Recycling Centres
- All Waste and Recycling Centres are now open
Waste Collections
- Waste collection routes will start earlier than usual at 5am until further notice where roads are accessible.
- Customers should leave bins out until they are emptied where it is safe to do so.
Spontaneous volunteers and offers of donations
- Anyone wishing to donate items should visit givit.org.au
- Anyone wishing to volunteer should visit volunteeringqld.org.au
- We have partnered with both of these organisations who will coordinate these offers of assistance for us.
