A woman in her 50s has been diagnosed with COVID-19. There have now been a total of 440 cases reported in South Australia.
The latest case has recently travelled from overseas, including interstate travel from Victoria to South Australia under an exemption due to compassionate reasons.
The woman was tested upon arrival at the Adelaide Airport on the weekend, and has been in isolation since arriving in Adelaide. Those who are considered a close contact of the case will be notified by SA Health.
There is now one active case of COVID-19 in South Australia and 435 people have been cleared of COVID-19.
There have been four reported deaths in SA from COVID-19. SA Pathology has undertaken more than 91,000 tests for COVID-19 so far.
Everyone must continue to follow measures that will help stop the spread. Practice good hygiene, keep 1.5 metres distance from others and stay at home if you are unwell.
People experiencing any of the following should be tested for COVID-19:
- Fever or chills (in the absence of an alternative illness that explains these symptoms)
- An acute respiratory infection e.g. symptoms of cough, sore throat, runny nose, or shortness of breath
- Loss of smell or the alteration in the sense of taste.
