COVID Cases in SA

There have been 2,626 new cases of COVID-19 reported in South Australia today. There are currently 15,893 active cases in South Australia.

There are 246 people with COVID-19 in hospital, including eight people in ICU. Of those hospitalised, 132 people have received three or more vaccine doses and 106 people are either unvaccinated or partially vaccinated and eight have an unknown vaccination status.

Due to a reconfiguration of the data, the total number of cases has been readjusted.

    *One reported death has been removed from the total due to death found to be unrelated to COVID-19.

    Variants

    The latest genome sampling from 1 to 13 June has found 80.7% of samples taken were BA.2.

    COVID testing

    Yesterday, 6,393 people received a PCR test in South Australia, which is a 14.4% increase on the previous 24 hours. Of the test results returned yesterday, 1,263 PCR tests were positive, while 1,363 positive Rapid Antigen Test results were reported.

    Vaccination update

    Currently 95.9% of eligible South Australians aged 12+ have received their first dose of the vaccine and 93.9% have received their second dose. Boosters have been administered to 73.1% of eligible South Australians and 68.6% of South Australians aged 16+.
