COVID Cases in SA

There have been 3,246 new cases of COVID-19 reported in South Australia today. There are currently 22,445 active cases in South Australia.

Sadly, SA Health can confirm two women in their 90s, a man in his 80s and a man in his 90s, who tested positive for COVID-19, has passed away.

There are 245 people with COVID-19 in hospital, including eight people in ICU, with two people ventilated. Of those hospitalised, 107 people have received three or more vaccine doses and 73 people are either unvaccinated or partially vaccinated and 65 have an unknown vaccination status.

Due to a reconfiguration of the data, the total number of cases has been readjusted.

    Variants

    The latest genome sampling has found 68.6% of samples analysed were BA.2, 11.7% of samples analysed were BA.4 and 12.6% of samples analysed were BA.5.

    COVID testing

    Yesterday, 7,106 people received a PCR test in South Australia, which is a 15.6% decrease on the previous 24 hours. Of the test results returned yesterday, 1,624 PCR tests were positive, while 1,622 positive Rapid Antigen Test results were reported.
