From Baw Baw Shire Council Chief Executive Officer Mark Dupe:
Council has been made aware of the potential for the Drouin Primary Early Learning Centre to be classified as an exposure site by the Department of Health.
Its status has not yet been confirmed by the Department, and Council has not received any further information about the site from the Department that substantiates this information.
However, out of an abundance of caution to our community, children and staff have been sent home, and the centre will undergo a deep clean and remain closed until further advice is received.
We will share more information as we receive it from the Department.
